Who are we?
We are Addie & Harry, an e-commerce business that sell goods for children.
Why do we collect information from you?
We collect information from you for a number of reasons:
- so that we can fulfil our contractual obligations (for example, send you a purchase you have made with us online),
- so that we are legally compliant (for example, we need to store details of all transactions for HMRC),
- to help us run and develop our business (for example, we look at trends in what people view and buy on our website to help us predict what to offer customers in the future).
For situations such as these, we need your data to pursue our ‘Legitimate Interests’ in a way that might reasonably be expected as part of running our business and which does not materially affect your rights, freedom or interests.
Where it does not fall into these situations, we will ask for your consent, for example, to send you newsletters by email with updates and special offers.
What type of information is collected from you?
The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address, information regarding what pages you accessed and when, and if you engage with us on social media.
If you make a purchase from us, your card information is not held by us. It is collected by a third party payment system which specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit / debit card transactions (see ‘When do we share your data?’ below).
How is your information used?
We need information from you to be able to process your order. Without it we cannot dispatch your order and communicate with you.
We use your information to:
Process and fulfil orders that you have submitted
To carry out our legal obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us.
If you sign up for our newsletter, we will use your email address to contact you by email from time to time to share news, updates and special offers. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.
How is your information stored?
We store your information in a secure database that is password protected and cannot be accessed by anyone from outside our company unless we have given them specific permission (see ‘When do we share your data?’ below). Access to our website is secured using ‘https’ technology. You can ask to see the information we hold at any time by emailing us at sales@addieandharry.com
When do we share your data?
We sometimes need to share your information with third parties to help us provide a better service for you. For example, we use a third party payment system which specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit / debit card transactions, or we give your address to couriers so they can deliver your order. We also work with an independent review company to gather feedback from you if you have made a purchase from us, and with Google and Facebook to show you products that might interest you while you are browsing the internet.
We choose our partners carefully so that your information is always protected, and we don’t pass on your information to anyone to use for their own purposes.
